Tree Plantation Campaign at Bishankhunarayan Temple—A Vision Realized Through Collective Effort

The Shiva Shrestha Foundation’s recent tree plantation program at Bishankhunarayan Temple was a vibrant display of community action and environmental stewardship. This initiative, held under the guidance of celebrated actor Shiva Shrestha, brought together enthusiastic participants, including local leaders, conservation advocates, and dedicated volunteers.

I was honored to serve as the creative architect for the program’s packaging and resource mobilization. Drawing on my experience with the "One Million Trees Challenge", I helped conceptualize the program’s structure, suggested its inspiring name and slogan, and played a key role in designing the event banner. My network and expertise in environmental initiatives also helped ensure a rich variety of healthy saplings were sourced from trusted local nurseries for the event.

In a heartfelt gesture during the event, Shiva Shrestha publicly acknowledged my role as the “behind-the-scenes hero” whose vision and persistent effort helped turn the tree plantation campaign into a model for sustainable action.

This successful campaign not only adds green cover at an iconic heritage site but also strengthens Nepal’s broader commitment to ecological restoration.
